In accordance with the guidelines of the Association of Schools of Social Work and the International Federation of Social Workers, the course aims to train professionals capable of promoting social change, addressing problems in human relationships, and fostering individuals’ ability to enhance their own well-being while respecting their self-determination. Building on the legacy of the first social work training programme established in Italy in 1956, the Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work Sciences at the University of Siena has a long tradition of high-quality research and teaching in the field of social work.

Degree: 1st cycle (equivalent to BD)
Career opportunities: Graduates in L-39 are qualified to work as professional social workers. The degree also grants access to the state examination for professional qualification (Presidential Decree No. 328 of 5 June 2001). Upon passing the exam, graduates may register in the Professional Register B with the title of Professional Social Worker.
